LL Yoga Superstar

The diary of Leslie Lewis, professional yogi on the run in NYC

About

You might be wondering who the heck I think I am with a blog named “LL Yoga Superstar”.  Do I think I’m a yoga superstar?  NO WAY…although I will admit to being a pretty good yoga teacher and practitioner…  This blog originated as my training diary and was only meant to be read by my yoga teacher and her husband who also teaches and co-owns their studio.  When I started the blog, it seemed that every fun or cute yoga blog name was already taken, so as a funny joke, I came up with this one.  The original tag line was silly as well, something like, “The diary of Leslie Lewis on her quest to become America’s next Yoga Superstar.”  Once I was finished with my training and set out to create a professional sounding blog/site, I realized that unfortunately there weren’t any decent URL names available.  LLYogaSuperstar.com happens to be catchy, easy to remember and easy to spell (and already had a little following that I didn’t want to have to lose and then restart).  Hence, I decided to keep the name and go with it.  Read below for my bio.

After owning a successful online luxury boutique for 4 years, Leslie found herself moving away from the high intensity world of fashion and more drawn towards her long-term yoga practice. Not only was yoga a wonderful way to help deal with her daily stress, but it was also a phenomenal way to stay in shape. Inspired by her yoga teacher and friend Tara Stiles, Leslie began teacher training under Tara in 2011. Through this she found, rather unexpectedly, her new path: “Nothing makes me happier than working with my students and seeing their smiles. Teaching yoga and helping others achieve their physical and mental goals is the most satisfying job I’ve ever had or could ever imagine.”

Leslie is a regular contributor to MindBodyGreen.  You can find her articles here.  She has also been featured in DailyCandy.
